‘Most Powerful Intelligent’ Robot Vacuum Leads Dyson’s New Products Showcase

Dyson has introduced a broad lineup of machines designed to push home cleaning deeper into the era of smart automation and artificial intelligence. From an AI-driven robot vacuum to an ultra-thin cordless model, the company framed the launch as a step toward its vision of “a home that cleans itself.”

At its event, the company presented nearly a dozen new machines, including a robot vacuum marketed as twice as powerful as its rivals, a cordless vacuum designed to capture microscopic particles such as viruses, and its first machine built for wet cleaning.

Together, the products highlight Dyson’s strategy of pairing strong suction power with intelligent automation.

The brainy robot vacuum that sees everything

The star of the launch was the Dyson 360 Vis Nav, a next-generation robotic vacuum that the company describes as its most advanced to date.

This robot uses a unique 360-degree vision system with a fisheye lens to map your home, remember where it’s been, and see where it needs to be cleaned. It’s packed with 26 sensors that help it avoid obstacles, detect dust, and solve a classic robot vacuum problem: cleaning right up to the edge of a room.

Jake Dyson, chief engineer at Dyson, explained the thinking behind it: “Robotic vacuum cleaners should be highly effective machines that intelligently clean your home, so you don’t have to… Dyson engineers have taken everything we’ve learned from developing our vacuum cleaners, combined it with intelligent software, to develop the Dyson 360 Vis Nav™ — the most powerful intelligent robot vacuum cleaner.”

A next-level quiet air purifier for big spaces

For open-plan homes and offices, Dyson also introduced the Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde and its commercial-focused Dyson HEPA Big+Quiet Formaldehyde.

According to the company, the system can push clean air across rooms up to 32 feet wide while maintaining sound levels under 56 decibels, making it one of Dyson’s quietest but most capable purifiers yet.

The devices go beyond particle filtration by breaking down formaldehyde molecules and capturing other airborne gases, while also sending real-time air quality data straight to users’ mobile phones.

Dyson’s first wet vacuum

The company also rolled out its first wet vacuum cleaner, the Dyson Submarin wet roller head, which can wash, mop, and collect debris in one sweep. It uses a pressurised hydration system to evenly distribute water and a separate tank to keep dirty water away from clean surfaces.

In Berlin, Dyson also showed the Clean+Wash Hygiene, described by The Sun as a lightweight wet-and-dry model designed to deliver “streak-free” results while preventing filter clogging and dirt buildup.

Expanding into haircare and beauty

The event also included new styling tools, among them the Dyson Supersonic r hair dryer and the Dyson Airdrop Co-anda 2x multi-styler. These devices feature intelligent attachments with sensors that adjust airflow automatically.

Dyson additionally announced a new beauty line called the Dyson Omega Nourishing Range, which uses ingredients like sunflower oil harvested from Dyson’s Lincolnshire farm. “We’ve brought together two completely different worlds — farming and beauty,” Sir James Dyson said, according to The Sun.

Cordless and compact innovations

Dyson also updated its cordless line with Gen5detect, powered by a fifth-generation Hyperdymium motor that the company says spin up to 135,000rpm — nine times faster than a Formula One engine — and is capable of capturing viruses from home surfaces.

Sir James Dyson personally presented the PencilVac, promoting it as “the world’s slimmest vacuum cleaner.” At just 38mm wide, it features a dust compaction system that allows it to hold far more dirt than its size suggests. “We are very keen on making things smaller and smaller, lighter and lighter, while dramatically improving performance,” Sir James Dyson said.

‘A home that cleans itself’

John Churchill, Dyson’s Chief Technology Officer, summed up the company’s long-term goal: “Our future vision is of a home that can look after itself. The new technologies launched today are the embodiment of this — the most powerful robotic vacuum cleaner; intelligent, large-room purification; and… cordless vacuums and cleaner head technologies that offer adaptive, multifunctional cleaning when and where you need it.”

From refrigerators to voice assistants, Samsung and Apple are setting the stage for an AI-driven household. Find out how this rivalry could redefine the smart home experience.
